For your MX or Yamaha motorcycle, graphics come in 3 different types. They can be permanent, decal style, or reusable. The permanent MX or Yamaha graphics are the most expensive of the 3, have the most unique design and the greatest details. You might find it difficult to replace these stickers when your taste changes. The decal style Yamaha or MX decals are less expensive than the permanent stickers, and are usually mass produced. Their designs are not unique, but you can arrange them to be close to unique that you needed. Bike decals are not removable, so the disadvantages are similar to the permanent graphics.

The last type, the reusable, removable MX or Yamaha graphics, are the cheapest. Because they are removable, you can change them at your pleasure. They are easy to use and apply, and in case of a mistake in the application you can easily remove them and then replace them back on. Because your MX or Yamaha bike is a very important possession, it is important that you maintain it properly. This is particularly true with permanent graphics, because if your Yamaha or MX decals are ruined, replacing them would be difficult.

The appropriate time to apply MX or Yamaha graphics is just after your unit has been washed, but not waxed. If the surface of your motorcycle has wax, the graphics or decals will not stick very well. If you already had the bike washed, allow 2 weeks before you install your Yamaha or MX decals. However, if you are too excited and would like to apply the sticker in the fastest possible time, wash the wax off using a detergent with ammonia. You can then apply the graphics after the surface has been thoroughly dried.

Next as a protection to the applied MX or Yamaha graphics, you can apply wax over the stickers. The wax will give a good appearance to the graphic or decal. You just need to be careful not to apply the wax excessively, as they may penetrate the edges and it will not be good to reuse the Yamaha or MX decals that you have just applied to your bike.

One misconception about removing the old graphics in motorbikes is that the paint might peel with the graphic. This is not true. Even if the graphics is permanent, decal style, or reusable, the original paint will not peel off with the decal. Removing a permanent graphic may leave adhesive stains which you can remove without worrying about the paint peeling off.

Take note that vinyl bike graphics have sensitivity to gasoline. Make sure that the gasoline that got on the graphics are wiped off immediately, to prevent your graphics from looking slightly burned by the fluid. Bike decals are less sensitive to the fluid, but the reaction depends on the kind of material that the decals are made of.

The decal style and permanent graphics may last longer, or as the name suggests, permanently. The reusable graphics may last up to one year with proper maintenance, and it can be made available in your local store supplying bike parts and accessories for a price as low as $5.
