[Singapore, August 21, 2015] – Galmon Academy, a leading Singapore company specialising in Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) use, offers Boom Lift Operator Courses for workers who want to study all about operating boom lifts, from the safety requirements to the most common risks and hazards.Workers who have completed the course successfully will receive anoperator license accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) with a validity of five years.

Training Objectives
Galmon Academy aims to teach workers the right use of boom lifts according to the task assigned. Included in the course are pre-start inspections and safety requirements by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and the Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height. This is to help workers identify hazards when operating, travelling, setting up and parking boom lifts in the work area.
The course will explain the factors that affect MEWP stability and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the task, work area and environment. A hands-on evaluation and assessment will take place to know if the workers have understood everything taught in the course.

Course Requirement
The Boom Lift Operator Course is a whole-day training, with two hours dedicated to practical and theory assessments.The medium of instruction can be either English or Mandarin. Interested workers should be at least 18 years old, in good health—without visual or hearing impairment, not afraid of heights and have an Employability Skill System or any equivalent.
