Piddly, Free Mobile Banking App, is Set to Launch This Fall That’s Aimed Toward Eliminating the Expensive and Inconvenient $20 ATM Withdrawal

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: August 18, 2015 — Piddly, a mobile banking app compatible with iOS and android devices, will be making its debut in App Stores this November, giving customers a more convenient and affordable option when making cash withdrawals.

Creator of Piddly, Darryl Callender, intends to change the way consumers handle petty cash transactions. By using the new app, consumers will have the option of withdrawing $5, $10 or $20 from their participating merchants.

Eliminating the hassle of expensive ATM surcharge fees and inconvenient $20 ATM withdrawal minimums, Callender plans on saving consumers a lot of money by helping them avoid expensive ATM surcharge fees and bypass having to withdraw more cash than they actually need. Imagine having an app that can withdraw small amounts of cash for say a cup of coffee at a favorite local spot. Normally, consumers have such limited options and would have to pay the ATM fee of $3.50 to withdraw a full $20 bill when all they need is a couple of bucks. As of this fall, the Piddly app gives customers the option they have been waiting for.

"My belief is that the majority of $20 ATM withdrawals are from people that just need a few dollars," Callender said, "they are forced to withdraw a whole $20 and on top of that pay a huge fee. I wanted to come up with something that would allow people to withdraw small amounts of cash for a cheap price."

According to a 2014 study by Shaun O'Brien on the Federal Reserve website, 66% of payments under $10 are made in cash, yet the vast majority of ATMs only allow customers to withdraw their money in increments of $20.

Customers are left to find unorthodox ways of getting cash back in smaller bills or even worse, giving in to the pressure of the ATMs $20 withdrawal minimum.

With all the perks of Piddly, customers will no longer have to make that choice. Customers can get $5 - $20 in cash directly from the merchant for a $0.50 fee.

Customers would simply have to log onto Piddly from their phone and select $5, $10 or $20 to be withdrawn from their account so Piddly can send a code to their phone. Customer would then take the code to the merchant and the merchant would type the code into their Point-of-Sale system. From there, the customer can retrieve the requested amount of cash.

Not only would this mobile app be a money saver for the consumers, but certain banks and merchants will also reap the financial benefits.

Banks who reimburse ATM fees to their customers will no longer have to reimburse such large ATM surcharge fees whenever their customers want to make a small cash transaction, nor will they have to pay interchange fees to the ATM owners, while merchants who give Point-of-Sale cash back after a purchase can eliminate those pesky "bubblegum cash back" transactions that customers tend to make in order to avoid ATM fees.

Piddly strives to be a revolutionary mobile banking app aimed specifically at eliminating the expensive “$20 ATM withdrawal transaction” whenever a consumer needs that $5 or $10 in cash.Piddly will soon be available to download at no cost on app stores worldwide. Customers can also sign up on Piddly.com.
