Explored in this press release is Centennial College’s Hospitality and Tourism Administration program. It includes information on the way the curriculum is delivered, including a field placement.

After three years of study at Centennial College, students interested in hospitality and tourism are fully prepared to enter the industry in areas as diverse as hotel and restaurant general management, human resources management, sales and marketing management, convention services coordination, tour coordination, food and beverage management, housekeeping management, and hotel financial management.

The program that readies students for these roles is Hospitality and Tourism Administration, which is open for application to anyone who has completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or has mature student status (19 years or older).

Through practice in operational lab facilities, including a full service hospitality management centre, an onsite conference centre and state-of-the-art computer labs, students learn the range of know-how they will need for success. Topics include everything from food theory, kitchen and dining practices and customer relationship management to wholesale tour operations, hotel sales and marketing, hospitality and tourism law and security, and more.

Students participate in a four-day-per-week, 15-week tourism and hospitality administration field placement, which is meant to allow them to apply their newly acquired skills to the real world and expand the network of professionals on whom they may reply upon graduation.
