So here are the things to carry-on while visiting Melbourne –

Clothing –

Melbourne’s weather is a mixed bag so carry your clothes accordingly.

Carry more casual dresses, like T-shirts, jeans, etc. For winters get a sweater or two and a pair of gloves too. Avoid wearing leather jackets, instead of it go for more layered clothes to fight cold. And also not forget to carry a raincoat!

Food –

Only packed food is allowed to carry in your flights, so don’t fill up your bag with loose eatables. Other than that, keep a space in your bag for pickles. In Melbourne, there are quite good number of Indian stores, so no need to worry much about food items. You can get it there too!

Medicines –

Bring paracetamol or crocin and cough syrup for general health problems. Australian customs are quite particular about not allowing any type of medicines so carry prescription along yourself.

Currency –

Few dollars in your wallet (hard cash) is must. To avoid carrying lots of currency, carry your credit card/travellers cheque.

Camera –

Melbourne is such a beautiful city that you can’t resist taking lot off pictures from here.
So bring your camera along with your other accessories.

Personal stuff –

Carry a basic phone as you will need for few days till you get one in Melbourne (it will save your expenses), hygine related stuff like soap/shampoo, shaving kit etc.

Outdoor Gear –

As you will be spending a lot of time travelling here and there, so remember to keep a comfy pair of shoes. There are many Mosquitos in summer time, so bring a bug repellent too!

Tourists who are visiting during the rainy season will like to wear water-proof shoes or boots.

Remember that you are allowed to carry 40Kg + 10Kg in your flight, so make sure you utilize it properly.
