Even more Darkfall Gold from my stop by at Aventurine

No DFUW Gold on its stats, but unless something has changed, it will arrive with all the upcoming expansion.

The newest, faster mount looks great. It possesses a sleek, horse/zebra/something look to it.

Together with some of the mob changes I pointed out before, here is the plan should be to also make mobs drop regs as outlined by what spells they cast, a lot like the direction they today buy Darkfall Gold and drop weapons/armor depending on what they have to use. If you see a mob spamming fireball often, you can bet it'll drop sulfur, etc. Remember along with some mobs receiving an overhaul (like the Spotlighted Sarlids), other ‘families’ of mobs will receive newbies to round their roster also. On the list of few i saw, the newly revamped beastmen (this look awesome) have become some assistance. Let’s hope they skin for additional beastmen teeth.

While we're talking about that Sarlid Spotlight, did anyone notice how detailed the brand new mobs look? Don’t worry though; the detail is on account of better textures, no more polygons, to ensure the better look isn't going to come for a heavy cost in performance. Seeing several of the models without textures was quite interesting as well, as its crazy simply how much ‘depth’ the textures enhance otherwise ‘plain’ looking models.

Industry experts about the player character models, and unfortunately those will debut inside the DF2010 expansion, not this upcoming one. Some from the models can be done, animation effort is still ongoing, as well as the models will probably be introduced with the new armor system.

Oh right, that. Once i asked in the event the plan was to continue giving races unique looks thus to their armor (bone armor looking different for each and every race) vs making things more standardized (think scale gloves), AV revealed a fairly interesting bit of DFUW Gold. Assuming things stay with target, one of many big changes coming in DF2010 is when armor looks between races. Rather than bone chest changing looks according to what race is wearing it, the new system set a look in line with the race with the crafter, so a human can equip a dwarf-made bone chest and still are offer the dwarven look. Think how mounts work today, with every race to be able to craft different things, but all races to be able to use each mount and retain its look while stats remain constant.

Obviously this not just expands the uniqueness of crafting between races and allows everyone to ‘dress up’ a little more, but means AV allows different races to craft different armor while still allowing all players to buy DFUW Gold to put on it. So for example dwarven crafters might get a particular number of armor that's better melee-based stats, while alfar crafters could possibly create better magic-related items. (Just examples I created btw, AV didn't confirm Just what items may be, exactly that while using new system something similar to this is now possible.)
