Green Bay Tire in Thornhill recognizes the importance of working in and for the community around them. They recently sponsored Miss Chinese Toronto. They want to do work within the Chinese Canadian community as well as find a way to connect with a younger audience.

The Miss Chinese Toronto pageant chooses the young woman who will represent the Canadian Chinese community of Toronto in the Miss Chinese International pageant in Hong Kong. This highlights not only the contestant, but also the area as a whole. Oftentimes winners go on to work as presenters for the network that holds the competition.

Green Bay Tire in Thornhill is happy to promote those talented young women within their community and outside of it. They are happy to be involved in giving young women this opportunity to promote themselves and their community.

The competition has been going on for several years, going through a name change in 1999. Green Bay Tire in Thornhill looks forward to future sponsorship of the Miss Chinese Toronto pageant and its contestants and to helping promote not only their residents, but their community on both a local and international level. This is an exciting competition for them to be able to be involved with, and they can only hope that it continues to benefit the young women of the Chinese Canadian community in the way that it has been since it was started. Giving these young women an opportunity to celebrate both the Canadian and Chinese aspects of the their culture and heritage is important for them as individuals and important for promoting the diversity that makes the Greater Toronto area a great place to live and to work.

Green Bay Tire is committed to celebrating the mixed heritage of those in their community, and working to promote the area and its citizens to the best of its ability. The place emphasis on working extensively with the Chinese Canadian population and holding events with in that community, but allow them to get better in touch not only with the Chinese Canadian community, but with the younger generation as well.
