The Australian government has announced plans to increase its regional migration intake for Australia immigration aspirants from 23,000 to 25,000

 
The government of Australia announced its intention to increase the number of visas it plans to provide for skilled workers who are willing to migrate to the more regional and rural areas of the country upon successful Australia immigration. The Australian government is taking this step in an attempt to ease the pressure of burgeoning population rates on its major cities, where the rate of growth of population is twice that of other areas in the country.

Australia Immigration – Government Plans to Increase Regional Migration To 25,000

The government plans to increase the number of visas it issues under its regional migration Program from 23,000 to 25,000 as per a statement that was recently issued by the office of the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The government plans to allocate 25,000 Australian visas to people who are willing to migrate to and settle in rural areas or smaller cities as well as those regions which are part of the annual migration cap. Almost thirty percent of the population in Australia has emigrated from another country, as per a report released by the OECD or Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The country, which is highly urbanized, has one fastest growing populations in the OECD, and has nearly sixty percent of its population living in urban areas as per a census taken in 2016. Over the last three years, this number has more than doubled according to data that was released recently by the government. The capital of Australia represented more than seventy percent of the country’s population growth.

The Prime Minister, while speaking on the subject, stated that the policy was taken to take the pressure off the major cities, while at the same time providing support to the regional areas and provide impetus for economic growth.
