FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2014) - Nominated “Funniest Comedian” for Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and 1st place winner of The Hollywood Improv’s “Funniest Comic in LA”, Comedian Michael Joiner has been making audiences laugh for more than two decades.

But you’d never guess that by the myriad of dramatic film roles that has come his way in the last few years.

Joiner, who studied film acting in Los Angeles under the direction of some of LA’s most notorious “A-list” acting coaches, has been in high demand ever since his break-out starring role in Sony Picture’s “The Grace Card” (www.thegracecradmovie.com).

That film warranted Joiner the distinction of being the only actor in history to receive rave reviews in both the Hollywood Reporter and Variety for a faith based film.

Thanks in large part to Joiner’s performance, “The Grace Card” went on to make over twenty-five times what it cost to produce.

It also helped launch Joiner’s film career.
Besides his starring role in “Rumors of Wars” (www.rumorsofwarsmovie.com), released in stores nation-wide November 11, 2014, Joiner heads the cast of another very promising dramatic/thriller, “Chasing Grace” (www.chasinggracemovie.com), set to be released intheaters in 2015.

Chasing Grace tells the story of a small town pastor (Joiner) living an idyllic life until a tragedy threatens his family and sets into motion a complex betrayal between two brothers, while exposing a secret no one wants to face.

“I have also recently launched my own film company,” says Joiner.
Along with his co-partner, Ricki Holmes, who Joiner met when starring in the movie “Broken Faith” which Holmes wrote and directed, Joiner’s production company,, Esther Pictures (www.estherpictures.com) has several projects lined up and is currently in pre-production on their first film entitled, “Christian Movie”, which happens to be a parody of the most popular faith based films.

“I figured who better to write the first full length feature comedy parody of Christian films than myself, a comedian who knows what makes both secular and church audiences laugh, and an actor who has worked in this very industry.”, says Joiner.

Look for the film “Christian Movie” to model Michael’s acting and comedy career as a hit among secular and Christian crowds alike.
