McDonald’s outlets across the United States, along with hundreds of other restaurants and businesses, closed their doors on 16, feb.2017 as protests against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies swept the country. McDonald's locations across the United States are shutting down on a "Day without Immigrants."

Organizers in cities across the country encouraged immigrants not to show up for work or patronize businesses, to show how crucial they are to the American economy. Some McDonald's locations are feeling the impact and have been forced to close for the day. It remains unclear whether the fast food giant voluntarily closed its outlets or if it was unable to operate as a result of workers not showing up to work however many burger fans shared updates via Twitter and Facebook on locations that were closed or operating on a limited service.
Some facebook users say this:-
“I was going to stop at McDonald's for breakfast, but it's closed. I hear it's closed because this is the day immigrants are taking off as protest to Trump's immigration law. I was annoyed at first until I realized why it was closed. Now I'm in full support of anything that goes against Trump and his ilk. I still want my pancakes and sausage, but I accept immigration, legal or otherwise, as a fact of progression of the human race. We need to be one world working toward to betterment of everyone, not isolating each country and living in fear. Everything is temporary, and needs to be seen as such.”

For McDonald's franchisees and company stores, it is likely best to close the restaurant versus trying to manage the restaurant with an inadequate service staff. Although many customers will see this is an inconvenience, many will understand.

McDonald's CFO Kevin Ozan told analysts that the shuttered stores, where comparable sales fell 4.8% in the February. Comparable sales were down 2.3%, one of their biggest drop in years as chains like Chipotle ate into sales.
