Businessman Dan Huish celebrates twenty-eight years of success in business.

Dan Huish is proud to celebrate twenty-eight years of success in business. From humble beginnings, Dan Huish has grown a number of businesses into highly successful enterprises, earning him significant recognition in multiple industries.

“I could never have dreamed of the amount of success that I’ve been able to achieve over the course of my career,” remarked Dan Huish as he reflected on his ongoing journey through the business world. “When I started Huish Detergents in 1985, I had no idea that I would one day be bringing in over a billion dollars in revenue per year, let alone that I would have the opportunity to found and grow additional businesses.”

Dan Huish’s success did indeed begin with Huish Detergents, Inc. Under CEO Dan Huish’s exacting eye, Huish Detergents eventually expanded to encompass a central office in Salt Lake City, large-scale manufacturing plants in four states, twelve patents, and over 2,300 jobs. Dan Huish sold the company in 2007 to a private capital company, and was pleased to see it enter a merger with Unilever in 2008 to become the United States’ second largest detergent manufacturer, after Procter & Gamble.

“The lessons that I learned as CEO of Huish Detergents helped me to understand what worked and what didn’t, and greatly influenced the directions I took with Huish Outdoors,” commented Dan Huish. Huish Outdoors is Dan Huish’s sporting goods conglomerate, which has so far acquired four additional companies in the SCUBA diving gear industry.

Most recently, Dan Huish has engaged in a ranching business. As the owner of Wapika Ranch in Pinedale, WY, Dan Huish oversees the raising of one thousand heads of high-quality beef each year. “It’s definitely a departure from my previous ventures, but I enjoy the fact that I get to spend a considerable amount of time enjoying the Wyoming landscape and working in a totally different industry than where I’ve been in the past,” said Dan Huish of his ranching business.

While Dan Huish has taken a step back to enjoy life with his family and friends in recent years, he by no means plans to exist the business world. Dan Huish looks forward to seeing where his current ventures go in coming years, and has not ruled out the possibility of starting another business if the opportunity presents itself.
