India vs Australia Boxing Day Test match day 2 report

Day 2 starts with Skipper short of three runs for his fifty and Cheteshwar Pujara standing at 68*. Pat Cummins was the only bowler to take the wickets for the Australian team

 
After the Indian batsman dominated in the 1st day of the 3rd Test match of India vs Australia four-match test series, they have kept their consistency on day 2 too. Indian team declared on 443-7.

Australia National Cricket Team score is 8 runs with all 10 wickets standing in 6 overs at the end of the day.

Day 2 starts with Skipper short of three runs for his fifty and Cheteshwar Pujara standing at 68*. Pat Cummins was the only bowler to take the wickets for the Australian team.

Both the batsman played consistently and get to their milestone easily as Virat Kohli scored his 20th Test fifty and on the other hand Cheteshwar Pujara scored his 17th century in International cricket and the second of the series.

With their respective score, both of them have reached one more milestone in their Test career. With Kohli knock of 82 he breaks Rahul Dravid’s (1137 runs) record of most number of runs in overseas Tests in a calendar year, and Pujara’s knock of 106 he became the 5th highest scorer for India in Boxing Day Test at MCG.

Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant gave their finishing touch with the bat to put up a good score for India. Lyon gets the rising man Rahane by LBW on 34 runs. Rishabh Pant comes to bat after Rahane wicket. Pant was going good but was caught by Khawaja on Starc’s ball on 39. Jadeja was the new batsman and played the shortest innings in the Indian line-up of 4 runs of three. Rohit went to score his 10th fifty and remained not out on 63* as Indian team declared their innings after Jadeja wicket on 443-7.

Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc have come as partnership breaker as they took three and two wickets respectively.
