New York resident Dr. Christian Heesch has recently graduated with a PhD in marine biology

Last year, Christian Heesch attained his doctorate degree in marine biology after graduating from Stony Brook University in New York. Now, Dr. Heesch is celebrating his educational achievements and looking forward to starting his professional career. With high marks throughout school and a wealth of volunteer and internship experiences, the sky is the limit when it comes to finding his ideal career path.

During his studies at the Stony Brook University School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, Dr. Heesch received an excellent education. He has spent much of the last three years under the guidance of his professors and the experts at the Living Marine Resources Institute. His research through the institute saw him endeavoring to learn about fisheries and the fishing industry, the algae bloom known as the brown tide, and creative or sustainable water management. His thesis was written about the Striped Bass and the threat it faces in New York as a coastal species.

Now that he has finished his postgraduate work, he is looking to secure employment in the marine biology industry. Thus far, he has received offers from some of the finest institutes and laboratories, though he is yet undecided. As a doctor of marine biology, there are many avenues that he can explore within his career field. Marine biotechnology is an area that he is seriously considering. Having the chance to explore the oceans seeking new organisms and methods for creating medicines is something he would enjoy. Second to this, he has a deep interest in the study of aquaculture.

When Christian Heesch is not working in the lab or out on the water, he likes to endeavor with many hobbies. Hiking is an activity that keeps him in shape and allows him to travel the world. He is proud to have hiked some of the most scenic trails in the United States. He is also a big fan of football, especially the NFL. At home, he enjoys stamp collecting, a hobby he has honed for nearly twenty years. These hobbies, along with his professional career, keep his mind sharp and his creative problem solving abilities flowing.
