Celtic Water Solutions (CWS), a leading supplier of water filtration & hygiene solutions, has reached an exciting milestone as the company celebrates the 20th anniversary of its founding.

Since 2002, CWS has maintained steady growth and positive relationships with clients while maintaining a high quality of work and service.

For the last 2 decades, CWS has been at the forefront of water filtration offering limescale removal and drinking water solutions to homes & businesses across Ireland. CWS started in 2002 by the current Company Directors Derek Ryan & Malachy Fahy with a simple mission to help Irish families benefit from filtered water. Over the years, the company has gradually evolved into a leading water treatment provider.

“We’re super grateful to have met the right partners and hired some amazing people to help along the journey. We’ve outlasted many competitors along the way, and we’re sure that’s due to our never-ending focus on delivering excellence to our clients”, said Malachy Fahy & Derek Ryan.
More recently, the company expanded its offerings to introduce legionella risk assessments, testing, and ongoing water quality monitoring programmes.

Legionnaires Disease, a severe form of pneumonia caused by inhaling droplets of water contaminated with legionella bacteria, leads to significant deaths every year worldwide. In 2019, there were over 11,000 deaths in the EU and 21 in Ireland from Legionnaires’ disease. The elderly, those with chronic lung disease, smokers and those with suppressed or compromised immune systems are most at risk for contracting the disease.

“Poor management of water systems is the topmost reason for legionella growth in building water systems and exposure to these systems poses a significant risk to building occupants. This has been in sharp focus in the recent months with buildings closed and reopening over the period of Covid-19 restrictions, as water systems become stagnant during lay down periods and require specialist disinfection and testing prior to re-use”, Malachy added.

As CWS moves into its 20th year, the company would continue to invest in domestic treatment solutions that meet the evolving demands of its customers. At the same time, it would continue to help people make sustainable choices to eliminate single use plastic bottles.
