2. 28 gauge = 0.330 mm = 0.013 inches: This metal size will take tighter patterns that must be annealed.
3. 30 gauge = 0.254 mm = 0.010 inches: This type of metal doesn’t need to be annealed first because it can take fine details.
4. 40 gauge = 12.50 mm = 0.005 inches: This is an embossing foil and it must be backed with watercolor paper or card stock. The designer needs to apply spray glue and then press to allow curing.

Embossing process of a metal
