Well, nobody thought that the result would be 6-0, just like the last time that these two sides met. Chelsea defended well for most of the game and were really on the ascendancy. Monaco on the come up..
Since Leonardo Jardim took charge of Monaco after he was initially sacked by the same employer a few months ago (I know, that does not sound right), Monaco has been on a mini-resurgence. It just kind of seems that between the time he was sacked and re-appointed, he has had time to reflect and formulate some sort of escape mission- that would also mean that he had the knowledge that he would be re-appointed and that Henry would not do a very good job. Against Lyon, a team that impressively held mighty Barcelona to a goalless draw, they scored twice, Subasic, their goalkeeper, saved a penalty and they kept a clean sheet. This would have been like a miracle if this happened in December for instance. Ultimately, it seems that they are currently on course to stay in the Ligue 1.

We are always assured of goals whenever Barcelona plays Sevilla. This weekend, it was no different. Sevilla showed their substance but sometimes, when you have arguably the best player in the world, all that is required is for him to show up. The player I have been trying to describe is Lionel Messi by the way. Messi ended the night with three sublime goals and an assist to boot. With Luis Suarez’s powers seemingly waning, Coutinho still trying to find his feet (even after a year), a lot rests on the shoulder of Lionel Messi, and to a lesser extent, Ousmane Dembele. Whether it is sustainable for them to win the Champions League is yet to be known.
Real Madrid ride their luck against Levante..
To say that Real Madrid played well and deserved their win will be a gross disservice to the Levante players. They created tons of chances, hit the crossbar twice and were seriously to lose to two penalties, particularly the second one that made Real Madrid to win the game. For Real Madrid, they played badly and still one. It is just one of those days at the office especially considering the fact that Levante had already won this season at the Bernabeu.
For Levante, play like this every game and they will probably be in the top half of the table come the end of the season.
