Aquaddiction has always had a reputation for specialising in small groups and making them into excellent divers. This time is no different. Unlike the factory approach to dive training so often found in Asia, Aquaddiction has a more family based style.

This season we have 5 new Divemaster Trainees coming from England, Canada, Finland, France. These luck souls will be, over the next 2 months, taken into the realms of professional divers as they complete their divemaster course with Aquaddiciton. To begin with they will be taking the SSI Stress and Rescue speciality course. This will prepare them to deal with the any potential problems that may occur while looking after customers while guiding a dive; from equipment problems to panic and the very unlikely event of finding an unconscious diver under the water. By the end of this speciality they will be read to begin their professional training with Aquaddiction as they begin the SSI Dive Guide course.

The Diveguide course will teach them everything that is expected of them as a professional dive guide. They will learn how to interact professionally with customers, map a dive site, understand the aquatic life found around the Gili Islands, give formal dive briefings and schedule dive trips. After the Diveguide course comes the Science of Diving where they will learn the in depth science of how pressure affects the human body, how SCUBA equipment works and yet more in depth study of the aquatic environment.

Diveguide + Science of Diving = Divemaster and when they have completed this they can then commence living the dream, working as a Divemaster on the beautiful island of Gili Trawangan. All Aquaddiction Divemasters are then given the chance to work and earn some money leading real customers so they can have the experience they need to be ready to work in any dive shop in the world.
