Port Hope, ON, May 30, 2014 -- Standard Auto Wreckers, an International leader in Automotive Recycling is expanding its operations by opening an auto parts distribution hub in the Municipality of Port Hope. The company will be located at 260 Peter Street and will generate up to 40 new jobs.

Operations at Standard Auto Wreckers’ Port Hope facility will include indoor auto components disassembly and warehousing and will serve as their Central Ontario distribution hub for new and used auto parts.

Port Hope was selected as the home of Standard Auto Wreckers’ third Canadian facility due to its:

• Central location and easy access to the 401 highway
• Availability of land and a building large enough to accommodate indoor operations
• Substantial population of skilled labourers for hire
• Supportive Economic Development and Municipal Development Team co-operation.

The Municipality of Port Hope welcomes Standard Auto Wreckers to Port Hope’s business community and the new jobs it will be creating in the coming months. Employment opportunities at the facility will include auto dismantlers, shippers, sales, customer service, drivers and security.
