11th June 2011 - “The more the style, the better”, this the way of today. Every product is based on this saying and so are Vessel Sinks. The sinks of today are available in different styles, all unique and magnificent. There are numerous variations for the customers to see and choose.
Self rimming sinks are made to station on appropriately shaped holes cut in the counter. They are suspended by their rim which forms a seal with the top surface of the countertop, when the sink is clamped into the hole from below.
Bottom-mount sinks as the name suggests are installed under the countertop surface. The hole should be a carefully finished edge and not a rough one so as to allow the edge to be exposed. Silicone-based sealants are used to make joints between the sink and the countertop material highly waterproof. The advantage of this sink is that it gives a nice contemporary look but the disadvantages lies in the huge expense of the sink and the countertop. Making an accurate cut for the sink is also not possible at one go and the job gets tedious.
A butler’s sink, basically of two types, are made of ceramic material and have a rounded rim to be set on the countertop. Both of the subtypes are generally 65 centimeters wide, about 20 centimeters in length and having a depth of about 23 centimeters. The London basin was primarily shallower than the latter sub-category of butler’s sink but this minor difference has been made to be non-existent in the modern era. The difference still existing today between the two types of sinks is that the Belfast sink has a water spillage preventing mechanism which drains excess water away to the wastewater plumbing.
These are the primary styles of Vessel Sink available for the choice of the people. Apart from these many new age high end finished sinks are coming up that gives the bathroom a grand look.
