Halal Or Not- Consumers Only Want Taste!

Food is the biggest need of all living beings, and when it comes to humans, food has to be tasty as well. Halal meat is gaining popularity, let’s read on to find out why.

Halal is a hygienic method of slaughtering which earlier just had the religious significance in Islam, but today, all across the US and UK, halal meat has become pre-dominantly popular for its unparalleled taste and tenderness.

Studies have found that consumers are not properly aware about what halal meat is. Some avoid halal because they assume that halal meat is unhygienic, while others assume that the animal is stunned for a long time before slaughtering method. Yes, halal is a slaughtering method, but the stunning is done when you want to slaughter a lamb and want its tender muscles. According to the Halal Food Authority, “stunning is not permissible in Islam. That clearly indicates that halal meat is not stunned before slaughtering.”

Most consumers do not know the significance of halal meat, but they remain obstinate that the meat shops, restaurants and meat suppliers must label all products clearly whether they have used halal meat or not.

A large proportion of chicken and lamb consumers have agreed that they deliberately eat Halal meat and they are well-aware about what they eat. They even go to Michigan Halal Groceries stores who sell halal meat.

According to the Middle Eastern Community in Michigan, “we are transparent in what we eat and what we serve. Halal means allowed in Arabic. Whatever Muslims are allowed to eat is Halal food, there isn’t much more to it.”

Restaurants, meanwhile who serve halal meat and other halal products receive a huge number of diners each day and are well appreciated by their customers for the tender, soft and juicy meat they serve. More and more non-Islamic restaurants and food chains are adopting halal food to increase their sales and popularity.

According to a halal shop owner in Michigan, “to follow Islam, it is important for us to ensure that the animal we slaughter is healthy and all blood is well drained out. This not only is the right way to ensure meat tenderness and maintain hygiene, but is also religious regulation for us to follow.” For more information visit: http://mimideast.com
