Brazil is the world’s largest producer of soybean whilst also being prominent in the world’s sugar cane, citrus fruits, corn and coffee markets.
Agrinteligente’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Richard Spencer commented on the crop disease sensors saying “Crop cultivation is a competitive market and cultivators strive to be the best at what they produce which is why it is imperative to use all the technology out there. Crops which are diseased are no good and especially in these challenging times, quality is key.”
“Agrinteligente have implemented a system where our research scientists, together with our partners, are seeking ways to detect early disease symptoms by using hyper-spectral analysis and satellite images to detect disease infestation in the environment. For example, the sensors would monitor the air in order to replace time-consuming field assessments and laboratory analyses. Artificial intelligence and machine learning methods are a key technology for the analysis of disease symptoms and it is a way forward for the world’s crop industry,” added Richard Spencer, Chief Technology Officer of Agrinteligente.
