As you can see Jagex changed the southernmost roads in Hosidius, why not all? Because of time and he like the roads, maybe not so much their straightness, but the style, see this as a compromise. Jagex also made the soul altar appear purple on the map like Arceuus and added Crabclaw Isle, which was in their initial design and a bunch of other smaller suggestions.
