India is on the verge of a petcare revolution and companies such as Bangalore-based Whizzles Pet Care Pvt. Ltd. are poised to encash this boom in a big way. According to their MD Punith Kumar, “India is at the top of the global list if countries with a high pet population. Recent surveys have indicated that there as many as 4 million pet dogs across all the Tier-1 cities of India alone. Punith’s words echoes the reality and trend. For example, Pet Foods has emerged as a huge industry with an annual demand for pet food being over 6000 tons and growing at 10-15 percent per annum.
