#City Palace, Udaipur

Our first stop was the royal palace of grandeur – the City Palace. This one is a must visit in any itinerary for the town. The monument stands tall like an imposing structure besides the serene waters of Lake Pichola. The palatial monument stands testimony to the era of the Mewar Dynasty and one can relive the historical period in all its majesty, through the intricately designed walls and museum inside the palace.

#Pichhola Lake

Encircled on all sides by grand palaces, marble temples, local houses, dark hills and rows of bathing ghats which is thronged by bathers and visitors equally, this lake adds to the mysticism of Udaipur. Stay at any lake front hotel and enjoy the beauty of lake by gazing around simply. Take photographs of numerous palaces and their reflections in the water, take a boat-ride to the famous island palaces built in the lake and enjoy the sunset from the sunset point, you will undoubtedly fall in love with it.

#Fatehsagar Lake

This is the second lake within the Udaipur City, other one is Lake Pichola. The lake area houses three small islands, which is named as Nehru Park with a restaurant and a zoo, a Public Park with an impressive water-jet fountain and Udaipur Solar Observatory . All islands are accessible with a short boat-rides. Lake Fateh Sagar is also connected to the adjoining Lake Pichola through a canal having gates.

#Monsoon Palace, Sajjangarh

The Monsoon Palace, formerly known as the Sajjan Garh Palace, is a hilltop palatial residence in the Udaipur city. It is named as Sajjangarh after Maharana Sajjan Singh (1874–1884) of the Mewar Dynasty, who built Sajjangarh Fort in 1884. It offers a panoramic view of the city's lakes, palaces and surrounding countryside. It was built basically to watch the monsoon clouds; hence, appropriately, it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace. The Monsoon Palace provides a beautiful view of the sunset. High in the Aravalli Hills, just outside Udaipur, the Palace is illuminated in the evenings, giving a glow of golden orange.

#Light & Sound Show: The light & sound show takes place in the City palace premises. It is a great expereince and an opportunity to capture the palace at night from within.

#Bagore ki Haweli: To get a taste of Rajasthani Folk dance, Bagore ki haweli is a must visit. A major attraction among foreign tourists, Bagore ki haweli is metres away from City palace on the banks of Pichhola lake.

#Saheliyon ki Baadi: If you are a fan of flora, Saheliyon ki baadi is the place for you.
