India's fiscal deficit was 5.25 trillion rupees ($83.08 billion) during April-November, or 98.9 percent of the full-year target, government data showed on Wednesday.

• Indian ADRs ended mostly lower on Wednesday.
• In the banking space, ICICI Bank was down 0.52 percent at USD 11.55.
• HDFC Bank was up 0.14 percent at USD 50.75.
• In the IT space, Infosys was down 0.03 percent at USD 31.46.
• Wipro shed 1.91 percent at USD 11.32.
• In the other sectors, Tata Motors fell 0.91 percent at USD 42.28.
• Dr Reddy’s Laboratories added 0.86 percent at USD 50.45.

Indian Market Highlights
The S&P BSE Sensex opened on a subdued note in absence of foreign institutional investors who are celebrating New Year holiday. Banks, oil & gas and metals were the top sectoral losers while auto and pharma were marginally in the green.

Most of the Asian markets are closed today due to New Year holidays. US markets ended lower on Wednesday as energy stocks fell tracking the slide in oil prices. The Dow ended 0.9 per cent lower, while the S&P 500 index was down 1 per cent. However for the year 2014 US stocks ended higher for the sixth consecutive year.
