Asian stocks rose early on Monday after the prospect of an imminent interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve faded after Friday's weaker-than-expected U.S. employment data.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 300 points in morning trade on Monday following positive trend seen in other Asian markets. The rally in the index was led by gains in HDFC, ICICI Bank, L&T, TCS, and HDFC Bank.

TCS (up 3.8 per cent), Tata Motors (up 3.3 per cent), HDFC (up 2.7 per cent), and ICICI BankBSE 2.95 % (up 2.2 per cent) were among the major Sensex gainers.

Maruti SuzukiBSE -1.84 % (down 0.98 per cent), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.95 per cent), and ONGC (down 0.86 per cent), were among the major Sensex losers.
