Indian Students hopeful regarding Post-study visa in UK
Recently an influential group of Top Universities in the United Kingdom made a representation to the Government, urging for a new students visa. It will allow international students to pursue work, after they complete their studies in the Kingdom. Indian students are filled with hope, at this development. Moreover, they believe that it will open up new opportunities for students, after completing graduation. Additionally, it allows getting professional exposure while studying.
Students invest a big sum to get UK Education that is the best in medicine and public health apart from other fields. They also face difficulties in sanction of loans. The question of repayment of loan is tough, because there is no work visa in United Kingdom . This makes for a strong case to grant Work Permit to UK.
The UK Government had abolished post-study visa in 2012. It allowed global students, to work for two years, after completing graduation. This new proposal, by the Universities UK, is a great hope for the future of students.
In the period 2006 to 2009 , students from India rushed to UK. The number was 2.47 lakh students from Asian countries in a year. Some of the students in 2011, went to study in the UK, but had to return in three months after completing Graduation, because of scrapping the scheme. They have bitter memories, but are hopeful that in the future, some of the Indian students will benefit from the proposal, if it is carried out.
