[b][United States, March 15, 2016][/b] – With Zane Kekoa Schweitzer as their representative, Starboard was able to conquer inclement weather to win in several categories in the 14th annual Master of the Ocean (MOTO) event. Held in the Dominican Republic on the last week of February 2016, the event proved to be a challenging battleground for a talented group of watermen.

Zane Schweitzer used a number of Starboard’s products, including the promodel Starboard 7’1” x 24” and Starboard AMP 5’7”. His sister, Shelby Schweitzer, came along for the trip as she was competing as well. They were in Cabarete in the Dominican Republic for three days, thrashing out in the seas in some really fun conditions for the sport. Zane said that for a holiday or a week of extreme sports, the Caribbean nation can always to accommodate everyone.

[b]Not Without a Challenge[/b]

Starboard and Zane Schweitzer came to the Dominican Republic in high spirits, but soon found the Caribbean climate was not cooperating. They had to postpone training for days because of the rain and overcast weather. There was also stiff competition from neighboring Venezuela, sending Francisco and Diony, and local rippers Tiki and Franzi hoping to conquer the Windsurf division.

Nevertheless, Zane and Shelby came out on top. Even with the inclement weather, Zane and his team found the best waves they have ever seen in the DR. The sunny skies appeared just in time for the opening day of the competition. Zane Schweitzer is also the defending champion of the Master of the Ocean contest.

He finished as the champion of the Windsurf leg of the event. Among his other achievements in the DR were 2nd place in the SUP Surf event, 3rd in Surf and 4th in Kitesurf. On the other hand, Shelby finished second overall in the women’s division.
