Being the inspector in charge of Operational Support Branch, Varun Naidu managed Traffic Section, Vulnerable Sector, Community Policing, Victim Services, Community Relations and School Liaison Units. It was his responsibility to ensure that the Operational Support Branch was adequately resourced and managed.

Starting it with Patrol Division, Varun responded to calls for services as well as conducted investigations. Besides, he came up with problem solving initiatives to address the community concerns. He also supervised the constables and provided them with the guidance and leadership on all investigative and operational matters.

Varun Naidu oversaw 200 sworn officers, 73 support staff, and over 200 volunteers. He operated an annual budget of 34 million dollars. Being the part of management team, he worked collaboratively with Delta Police Association and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

As the Staff Sergeant Watch Commander in Delta Police Department, Varun supervised the patrol shift. He was responsible for a team of seventeen constables and two sergeants conducting patrol and uniform functions.

Working as the member of Criminal Investigation Branch, Varun Naidu supervised seven constables in the areas of drug investigations that included indoor marijuana grow operations and drug trafficking. As a supervisor, he provided an oversight on all the investigations and developed strategies with his team to reduce the impacts of drugs in the community through education, enforcement and community partnerships.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Varun graduated from the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Education. Pertaining to the awards he has received, he won the Oliver Thompson Memorial Award at the Police Academy.

Varun Naidu regularly goes to gym and has travelled a lot along with his family. Soon, he will join the Porsche club. He is quite fond of reading and watching movies.

Varun Naidu served as the part of Emergency Response Team in 1998 where he assisted in conducting the high risk operations that fell outside the skills, knowledge, and abilities of regular members such as warrant service, barricaded persons, and hostage rescue. He was selected as the Team Leader of the Emergency Response Team where he supervised all tactical operations and coordinated training.
