Computer, IT, Electrical, Electronics & telecommunication Engineering students and research scholars will find this book very helpful and enlightening.

Research and development in the field of Engineering plays a vital role in development of any nation. Western countries such as the United States of America, Germany etc. lead the world when it comes to cutting edge research in Engineering. However, Indian universities and science-engineering research faculties in various institutes are catching up with their western counterparts through cutting edge research in India. One such example of this is the book authored by Mrs. Parul Arora of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management Wagholi.
With a focus on R & D, Mrs. Parul Arora a faculty member at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management has recently authored a book titled “Multiresolution Techniques in Video Shot Boundary Detection, A step towards high level video segmentation”. This book is published by Lap Lambert Publishing Academy, Germany.
Talking about her new book Mrs. Parul Arora said, “I have been working on this book since 2010 and now I am delighted to present this book to students & research scholars who are conducting research in Electronics and telecommunication, computer science, IT etc. I am indebted to Dr. D.D. Shah (Principal, G.H.R.C.E.M ) for inspiring and motivating me for this achievement. This book gives emphasis on various novel techniques for the automatic detection of shot boundaries in videos. The various multiresolution techniques includes Ridgelet transform method, Radon Transform method, Wavelet difference method.”
The techniques presented in this book are novel methods which can automatically perform the high level video segmentation which is required for video abstraction, summarization and video indexing. Also Illumination removal techniques has also been discussed using two methods, i.e. Discrete Cosine Transform and Discrete wavelet Transform.
About The Author, Mrs. Parul Arora
Dr. Parul S. Arora has obtained her Ph.D in Electronics Engineering. Her area of research is Video shot boundary detection, Image enhancement and retrieval, Face recognition. She has published papers in several reputed journals like Springer, Elsevier, IEEE etc. She is working as Associate Professor & Executive member in R & D cell at G.H.R.C.E.M, Pune.
