It's time to fire up the engines and head to the Brickyard. That's right, we are heading to Indianapolis for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. This year's installment is sure to be a good with cars reaching speeds of 225 mph on the 2 1/2 mile track.
Simon Pagenaud comes into this season's race as the hottest driver on the planet. Pagenaud has won the last three IndyCar Series events, including last week''s Grand Prix of Indianapolis. The 32-year-old Frenchman also won Rookie of the Year in 2012 and has seven career wins in 71 starts. He will start eighth on Sunday.
Of course, last year's champion, Juan Pablo Montoya, will be a tough out in Indianapolis. Montoya finished second in the final point totals last season to Will Power despite beating Power at last year's 500. Montoya has two career wins at the Indy 500 and five overall in the IndyCar series, including at the 2016 Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. He will start 17th on Sunday.
