Indispensable Lining, Interlining, Twill Fabric Played a Big Role in Clothing

 
A cotton Woven Interlining fabric, chintz is usually used for drapery due to its glazed finish. It is relatively light weight but needs to be drying cleaned so make sure you do not put it in a room where it is exposed to possible messes. Chintz can be patterned with bright designs like flowers and geometric as it is traditionally and this fits its light weight.

A heavier fabric, damask has traditionally been made from silk but can now be found in cotton, wool or a combination of cotton or wool with satin. The term has come to mean the style of weaving and not the fabric itself. Before employing velvet in a room, make sure the rest of the room lends itself to the boldness of the fabric. Usually used in more pre 20th century style interiors, velvet is made from cotton, rayon and polyester and should be used in formal dining or sitting rooms. Some people also use red velvet it in their bedrooms to give it a more sensual look.

Featuring designs like stripes and checks, gingham is a low maintenance fabric made from plain woven cotton. This makes it a perfect fabric to use in curtains in the kitchen or dining room in cafe style curtains. Gingham can be washed regularly and is crisp like ironed linen and is one of the most practical fabrics to use.

Used for drapes, Brocade is made from cotton, wool or silk and is a pretty heavy Nonwoven Interlining fabric.
