Ghale Gaun Trek sits out there as one of the shortest Annapurna Region Trekking Packages with key values comparable to the Langtang Region Tamang Heritage Trek. While the latter tour demonstrates its tourists the Tamang People's hospitality, the first one marks the typical Gurung People's friendliness. Unlike most of the Annapurna Region's trekking packages like the Annapurna Base Camp Trek starting from Pokhara, this trek doesn't begin from there. This journey actually begins from the Lamjung Region headquarters, Besisahar. The drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar is about 5 to 6 hours long and continues along the Trishuli River along the Prithvi Highway. Another drive hour finds us in Khudi village. Rest for the moment! The next day our hike will see us through an simple ascent uphill at Ghale Gaun village. Ghale Gaun is a typical Gurung settlement providing notable views of the Annapurna Mountain Range, Machhpuchhre, Himal Chuli, Lamjung, and such other peaks. We are going to take a day off to enjoy the Ghale Gaun and explore it. The town is also home to the recently established SAARC Village Tourism Museum in the middle of the Annapurna Circuit Trail. Explore the culture, learn some language, and learn the local values and norms. Return to Besisahar and then return to Kathmandu to finish our short Cultural Trek. Do not forget to explore the Lamjung Durbar while at Besisahar, only if time persists. Enjoy the opinions of the Marshyangdi Khol and the Gaikhure Jharana (waterfall) on the way to Besisahar as well. Nothing is more enjoyable than exploring the typical Himalayan cultures. Are you willing to explore one?
