[South Bend, December 12, 2017] Studies show that patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases can benefit from quality end-of-life care (EOLC). Center for Hospice Care provides palliative and end of life care to patients from all walks of life who are suffering from any chronic disease.

Palliative Care Improves Quality of Life

A study conducted at Lancaster University revealed that as patients with neurodegenerative diseases can significantly benefit from palliative and end of life care.

The study, published in Aging & Mental Health, used four electronic databases in selecting 13 articles. Then, they evaluated the selected studies and interpreted the conclusions. The research included patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and motor neuron disease.

The researchers found that patients valued autonomy and control and the ability to receive ample information about disease progression so that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare. Facets that a palliative or EOLC-provider can cover.

Center for Hospice Care believes that any patient suffering from a life-limiting disease deserves to live in comfort. Thus, they offer their services to patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
