Chow Mein Vs Lo Mein When they are looking at Chinese recipes many people do not know the difference between chow mein and lo mein. There is an impact between the two. I want to start off by explaining what each one is.

 
When they're looking at Chinese recipes many people do not understand the difference between chow mein and lo mein. There's an impact between both. I want to start off by describing what each one is.

What's Chow Mein?

Chow mein means "fried noodles." These noodles are your best bet when you've got a recipe that calls for either fresh or dried noodles.

What's Lo Mein?

Lo Mein mean "dropped noodles." When you might have a recipe that calls for "fresh egg noodles," this is the best bet.

Chow Mein Vs Lo Mein

It's all the groundwork of each noodle when it comes down to the chow mein vs lo mein deal. They are the same - they're even made out of exactly the same ingredients - but you use them differently. They're both made with wheat flour and egg. Both noodles need to be softened in boiling water either way, only for different times. Dried noodles need 5-6 minutes to boil, while fresh egg noodles just desire 2-3 minutes to cook. The cooking time also depends upon the thickness you want to your own noodles. You can't get these noodles in the Italian noodle shapes - i.e. fettuccini or shells - in fact, the 'cheat'way to get them, if you can not locate them in a store, is getting a bunch of Ramen Noodle Soup.

Recipes

Below are some essential Chinese recipes for both dishes whom I believe you'll appreciate.

Easy Chow Mein
1 Cup: Celery
2 teaspoon: Garlic
1/8 teaspoon: Ginger (Ground)
12 oz.: Cow Mein Noodles; Cooked
1/8 tsp: Black Pepper
1 Tbsp: Brown Sugar
3 Tbsp: Oil

Directions:
Heat oil and add celery and onions, cook until onions are transparent.

Add pepper, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sugar in separate bowl and whisk.

Add sauce to skillet and then throw noodles and appreciate!

Simple Lo-Mein
3 Cups: Baby Spinach
1: Carrot
2 Cloves: Garlic
1/2 teaspoons: Ginger (ground)
1: Red Bell Pepper
2 Tablespoon: Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp: Sriracha
8 oz.:
2 teaspoon: Sugar
1 Tablespoon: Oil
1 teaspoon: Sesame Oil

Directions:
For the sauce:
Whisk sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and sriracha

Cook noodles in boiling longer, drain, set aside.

Heat oil over medium heat in large frying pan or wok. Add garlic, mushrooms, pepper and carrot and cook until soft (3 minutes). Stir and spinach and cook until the spinach is wilted. Stir and toss noodles and serve immediately and enjoy!

Egg Rolls
1/2 pounds: Any Meat You Select
2 Cloves: Garlic
2 teaspoon: Ginger
4: Green Onions
1: Egg
1 Bag: Cabbage and Carrot Coleslaw Bag Mix
1 tsp: Salt
1 teaspoon: Sugar
1 teaspoon: Oil
1 tsp: Sesame Oil
12: Egg Roll Wrappings
1 tsp: Water

Directions:
Cook meat with ginger and garlic; drain it if grease is left behind.

Blend salt, sugar, soy sauce and sesame oil and add to meat in the pan.

Pour hot meat and stir. Allow it to cool.

So it's facing you put wrapping and area of filling in the middle of each wrapper 3 Tbsp.

Fold bottom point over filling and roll. Fold in right and left points.

Brush the beaten egg and finish rolling. Repeat with next 11 wraps.

Either fry in frying pan or bake for 10 to a quarter hour at 350.
