If recently your vehicle has been acting up and being sluggish, unreliable or squealing to no end, then it's just telling you something- it is time for a tune-up.

Warning lights- Modern cars are usually good at telling you when it needs to be checked. If the little indicator on your dashboard lights up when you start the car and if it stays illuminated; it indicates a problem with a vehicle component. One thing to remember here is, fully illuminated check engine light may just indicate a minor concern but a flashing light means your car needs a visit to the garage. Also, check whether any other lights are on, for example, oil light. If it is, then the issue may be more serious. Diagnosing and fixing even a minor problem can help you avoid a costlier problem down the road.

Loud noises- Noises can be another indication that you need to get your car checked, if your brakes are squeaking or you feel a vibration when you press it, there is a good chance that something is wrong. A shrill whine from under the bonnet may be caused by a loose belt which can cause a plethora of issues. In short, if you hear any new unmerciful noise coming from your car, you should get it checked before it turns into a serious problem.

Smoke- A smoke from the bonnet is caused by either overheating or problems with the radiator. If you notice a blue smoke when your car is running, it is recommended to stop the car immediately and call a mechanic, a blue smoke is caused by burning oil and if left unfixed can be dangerous as well as burn a hole in your pocket. Excessive smoke from exhaust indicates oil leak too.
