If you are a frequent visitor of Nottingham massage parlors or Watford massage salons, you might have already heard the news. Same goes for Nottingham massage specialists and Watford massage professionals. The general public, however, can still be unaware that a new massaging concept is on the table. What’s new about it, though, is that it’s not just another obscure massage method that will invade the Nottingham massage salons and Watford massage parlors and leave you feeling just like after that Shiatsu, Thai or Swedish session. No, this massage is to be found not in Nottingham massage salons and Watford massage parlors, but at various Western hospitals and clinics.
Massage was considered a medicine, not a luxury, since its inception a long, long time ago in a country far, far away. Amazingly enough, this country still exists, and is called China (or India, depending on your stance on massage history). Being invented in a culture that was able to stand the test of time so well, massage, not amazingly, is still around, and better than ever. It never lost its status as a form of medical treatment in the countries of Asia, and is still used in Chinese hospitals alongside typically western remedies like IV antibiotics. In the West, however, massage had a more turbulent history.
At first, when it was introduced, it was considered a legit medical practice. As time passed, however, and as many unqualified practitioners appeared, its medical properties started to look more like an Asian superstition, and only the body pampering side of it was recognized. Still, sometime in 19th century medical massage, or at least its concept, went through a revival, as a Swede called Per Henrik Ling developed a method of physiotherapy known as “Swedish massage”. Swedish massage was based on Western principles of anatomy and physiology, and was recognized as a legit method of physiotherapy around the world. This helped to legitimize the medical properties of massage in the West again.
To help with the effort the American Medical Massage Association and the United States Medical Massage Association united in their effort to raise the standards in the massage industry, and worked closely with the medical community to make massage more accepted as a medical practice. This culminated in a recognized concept of a medical massage, which is outcome-based, and is supposed to help with a specific problem of the patient after a diagnosis is made by a medical therapist. There is no specific style of medical massage that Nottingham massage specialists and Watford massage professionals utilize, instead it’s more of “whatever works is cool approach”. Medical massage can incorporate any method of massage, as long as concrete results are provided, and it’s been increasing its popularity ever since. Medical massage helps with many conditions, both mental and physical, chronic and acute. It’s especially effective when treating a carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, and repetitive use injuries like tennis elbow or golfer elbow.

If you have a repetitive use injury such as tennis elbow or golf elbow, visiting a Nottingham massage http://www.wellbeingadvisor.co.uk/nottingham/holistic-massage parlor or Watford massage http://www.wellbeingadvisor.co.uk/watford/holistic-massage salon specializing in medical massage might be just what you need.
