Most of the research regarding sock Deep Sleep Diabetes Remedy Review materials has been done with socks on healthy feet. For example, the United States military has done extensive research. The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine has assimilated that research and recently made this recommendation to soldiers: "The use of synthetic blend socks (e.g., polyester, acrylic, and nylon versus cotton socks) is recommended to prevent blisters to the feet during physical training. The work group found at least fair evidence that synthetic blend socks prevent blisters to the feet, especially during long-distance marching." USACHPPM Injury Prevention, Physical Training and Sports Injury Prevention Guidlines 2009.
The problem with cotton, as the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Medicine points out is this: "blisters appear to be caused by friction between the skin and sock; that friction is exacerbated by moisture produced by sweating." Synthetic socks appear to do a better job of managing moisture than cotton.
Unfortunately, there is little research on moisture management of various sock materials and diabetic feet. Douglas H. Richie, Jr., DPM, recently wrote an article "Therapeutic Hosiery: an Essential Component of Footwear for the Pathologic Foot," in Podiatry Management, Oct. 2008, pp. 125-134.
