Three hundred and sixty five days ago Swathi Dinnae laid eyes on the splendor of Niagara Falls for the very first time. The 28-year-old software professional and travel enthusiast had never seen the falls in all its natural glory, and the experience was so memorable she can recall it vividly even a year later. “I can still picture it like it’s right in front of me,” Swathi Dinnae says. “The roaring of the water, the way it tumbles down into the calm waters below… wow, what a beautiful place!”

Swathi Dinnae and her husband visited America’s oldest state park a year ago, getting soaked and having a great time as part of an East Coast vacation. For the travel loving couple, it was a great experience that they have already placed high among all of their many travel memories together. It is not always easy for the hardworking Swathi Dinnae to get away from her job as a business intelligence software professional, so when she can it is always great to have such an unmitigated good time.

Swathi Dinnae also became interested in the history of the park, how it was saved from the brink of destruction by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead and members of the Free Niagara Movement. “I can’t believe this place almost didn’t exist,” she marvels.

“Sometimes if I am stressed or busy at work I close my eyes for a moment and imagine myself back at Niagara Falls,” admits Swathi Dinnae with a smile. “I picture the water, I see the rainbow that the waterfall makes, and I remember how the mist was everywhere. It helps me to relax, it calms me down greatly. It’s a wonderful memory, absolutely.”

Along with her husband, Swathi Dinnae does volunteer work with underprivileged youths. She finds herself telling them about the beauty of the falls, and many of them express a desire to go and visit this national treasure someday, something which Swathi Dinnae strongly supports.

Swathi Dinnae intends to do a whole lot more traveling in her future, but will never forget the time she spent one year ago at Niagara Falls.
