Wedding Planners use white dove release as a part of their event planning scheduled for the weddings. Release White Doves are White Racing homing pigeons, a member of the rock dove family, and some strains are specifically bred for ceremonial white dove release . White homing pigeons are preferable to ringneck doves for ceremonial release because ringneck doves lack homing and fast flying ability. Ringneck dove are not recommended for white dove release usage.

Some other companies will offer either untrained homers, ringnecks, or other types of pigeon or dove..” warned Jaime Winters the Event manager: “the latter is not recommended as those types of doves do not have homing abilities and are likely to end up in the claws of a hawk, owl or cat, since they are unable to survive on their own in the wild..” she continued and emphasized using trained white racing homing pigeons for white dove release.

Wedding White Dove Release ceremonies methods include the hand releasing of wedding doves in which the bride and groom hold two doves which are then released together the called a flurry or flock releasing pf white doves in which the bride and groom release two birds by hand or from a box and then a larger group of doves are released shortly afterward to join them in the sky.
