Subrata Chakravarty has always been inclined towards doing the active clinical work where his skills would go hand in hand. With great passion for anesthesia, he believes that it would give him a platform where he would be able to take care of challenging cases and scenarios that require both skills and expertise.

Highly involved in acute care in surgical programs and labor anesthesia for a long time, Subrata is interested in Addiction Medicine and Chronic Pain. He has always been involved in teaching and practicing safe airway management.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Subrata Chakravarty got his training as Clinical Fellow at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. Thereafter, he attained his one year of fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia from University of Toronto. In 2008, Subrata attended Mount Sinai Hospital to achieve his fellowship of two years in Clinical Anesthesia. Teaching and practicing safe airway management, Subrata completed his three year fellowship from Mount Sinai Hospital.

Subrata participated in various projects which included auditory assessment after dural puncture during epidural placement in Obstetric Patients, “Performance of Anaesthesia Assistants: A review of more than 10,000 cases under local/topical anaesthesia with IV sedation and Aseptic techniques during labour epidural analgesia: A Survey of Obstetric Anaesthesia Practice in Ontario’.

Being the native of Assam, Subrata Chakravarty comes up with various relaxation techniques to calm the minds of patients and relax their body. These techniques can include diaphragmatic breathing, guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness. Other techniques including yoga, qi gong, and tai chai can also be performed.

Starting his day with a focused preoperative assessment, Subrata Chakravarty evaluates the risks and plans the course of Anesthesia care for the patients. Being an intraoperative physician, he looks after the patient undergoing surgery right from the initiation of anesthesia till the recovery phase.
