This Press Release is written to inform the readers that Subrata Chakravarty considers that chronic pain is geared towards chemical changes in brain.

 
Subrata Chakravarty considers patient safety as one of the top priorities of every hospital or organization. He considers that the onus of patient safety is on everyone, not just the healthcare professional alone.

He was always aimed at becoming a physician and worked hard to follow his passion. He got selected for MBBS course at prestigious Gauhati Medical College. Thereafter, he went to Delhi University for post-graduation and specialization in Anesthesiology. After completing his MD in Anesthesiology, Subrata was selected as Registrar in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Regarding the studies that he presented as an anesthesiologist, Subrata presented study titled “Use of laryngeal mask airway: a survey of anaesthetic practice among anaesthesiologist in Singapore” at the Annual Scientific Meeting in Singapore. Subrata also attended University of Toronto to get three year fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. He also presented a paper at the SOAP annual meeting in Texas in 2009.

Being highly specialized in pain management and anesthesiology, Subrata Chakravarty worked for acute care in surgical programs and labor analgesia for a long time. He considers that unlike any injury that causes physical pain in the body, chronic pain is more geared towards chemical changes in the brain that the traditional scan wouldn’t pick up.

Pertaining to his previous profession, Subrata joined as Staff Anesthesiologist with Alberta Health Services and he continued to practice and teach. He was appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta.

About Subrata Chakravarty

Pertaining to his education credentials, Subrata Chakravarty got his training as Clinical Fellow at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. Thereafter, he attained his one year of fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia from University of Toronto. In 2008, Subrata attended Mount Sinai Hospital to achieve his fellowship of two years in Clinical Anesthesia.
