It’s part of the Rotary club’s exchange programs for students aged 15 to 19. Rotary clubs sponsor such students in over 100 countries. Such exchange programs unlock the students’ true potential to develop lifetime leadership skills, become global citizens, learn a new culture and language, and build long-standing friendships with other people across the globe. Long-term exchanges last for an entire academic year, allowing students to attend local schools as they live with many host families.

Shedding light on the foreign exchange student program, a company representative said, “The Rotary Youth Exchange programs for studying abroad, give you an opportunity to discover a different culture, learn a new language, and become part of the global Rotary community. As a foreign exchange student, you have the ability to select from short-term exchange in summer, a gap year, or a full academic year of high school. Different countries, cultures and occupations give Rotary its unique perspective. Rotary is able to accomplish its goals because of the shared passion for service.”

Talking about Rotary’s gap year travel programs, the company representative said, “If you’ve been dreaming of taking up a high school study abroad program and think it might be late, it may not. While the Rotary Youth Exchange program is meant solely for current high school students, we’ve limited opportunities for other students to take part in the program after they graduate from a high school in Canada or the United States. Rotary Youth Exchange helps you to put meaning in your gap year travel so you spend it traveling abroad. If you have any questions about the gap year abroad, feel free to ask us.”
