Hong Kong-07-08-2014(http://medlab-online.com/) It’s always safe and sensible to get tested as there could be several cases of HIV infection around us and incidences of HIV infection are also on a rise. Nearly 25% of people with an infection are completely unaware of their position. HIV is not contracted, as is commonly assumed, through homosexual relations. In 2011, for example, as many as 48% of new infections were contracted via heterosexual sex. In many cases, HIV can be symptomless and it may be impossible to say whether someone is infected by a visual examination. Therefore, getting tested is the only way to assess someone’s HIV status. If you have never been tested for HIV, now might be the time to think about getting it done. It’s also recommended that you get tested at least twice a year if you perform practices that can transmit a HIV infection, practices that include, but aren’t limited to:

Having injected narcotic drugs or anabolic steroids with shared injection needles.
Being or having been a sex-worker.
Having sex in the past with someone who is HIV positive.
Having high-risk, sexual contact with more than one single sex partner after being tested for HIV.
Having a high-risk sexual contact with someone who has had other sexual contacts since their last HIV test.
If you were diagnosed with or received treatment for herpes, hepatitis, tuberculosis or other sexual transmitted diseases.
If you've been tested for HIV with a negative result, but still conduct sexual practices or anything else that puts you at risk for HIV then you should get tested again in 90 to 120 days.

How Should I Take the Test for HIV?
Obtain your test kit, which comes discreetly packaged.
Prick your fingertip using the lancet provided and collect your blood sample by ‘milking’ it into the collection tube, which is as easy as carrying out a blood sugar test. The test kit includes a leaflet of detailed instructions that help you collect your blood sample.
Read the results after 15 minutes in the privacy of your home.

Window Period' of the Test:

If you have been infected by HIV within the last six weeks, the HIV Home Test Kit is unlikely to detect this infection. If you are concerned that you may have contracted a HIV infection from a recent event, it is recommended that you wait for six weeks following the event before undergoing a test.

So stop worrying about what might be and get yourself tested – there’s nothing better than knowing, and you’ll have that relief soon when you choose our HIV home test kits.
