Truth is a Beach; See the Photos

Most of us are trying to follow social distancing guidelines, but is our media misrepresenting us?

The beaches are open! '"Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" he chortled in his joy."'and yes, that is the phrase from Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. It is a nonsense poem found in Through the Looking-Glass by Mr. Carroll. How many of us feel that we have been living in a reverse world, as found in a mirror? And now we are emerging back into a more normal reality.

And now we start edging back into freedom of movement and freedom to gather together. Our press shows us two sides especially in pictures. It is amazing what an angle, or a point of view, can do. Take, for example, the view looking lengthwise down a beach. People seem to fill in every spot and the illusion is created that people are too close together, are flaunting all the social distancing guidelines, and everyone in the entire population is being put at risk.

Then we step back to the boardwalk, or swim out far enough to get some perspective, and we see that there are small groups of people, not on top of one another, spread out along the sand. That is a different story. It tells us how responsible people are enjoying the outdoors, getting exercise, and safeguarding the wellness of themselves and others.

In my recent experiences and observations, the truth is that individuals and small groups are taking back their lives in ways that respect the common good. "Seek to live with the truth. False data can cause one to make stupid mistakes. It can even block one from absorbing true data.", L.Ron Hubbard. www.thewaytohappiness.com @waytohappinesstampa
