Especially in these Odd Times, We Are Mankind

We are the family of man. We have found some unity in these odd times, let us continue to create from there.

n this time of Coronavirus, when getting in touch with friends and relations I might not have seen for a while, I ask how they are doing in these odd times. One for one they say oddness is a good word for our current times. We carry on, things are mostly all right, or it seems we will get through this experience and carry on. And our humor reflects this sense. It is not quite as dark or bleak or ugly as it can sometimes be. We all, at least in my circles, seek to move the conversation into more positive realms. We reach out through distances that are shared. The spirit or climate of our times is a shared space, a shared reality, and a kinder sensibility. Because in these times, we have had more actual time. We have had to pause.

And now things are revving back up. At first, there was just a sense of opening and lightness, as of a lifting off of a heavy object or mass. Perhaps a great sigh echoing around the world like the melody of a song in cannon. This then has brought more movement and more breath and then again more movement, so that the gears of production start spinning and mesh together and bring us all into more action than all but our front line heros have seen for some months. We want to sprint ahead and embrace our friends and our lives. But we are cautioned to pause again and consider safety and wellness.

Right now we really hold the health and well being of our fellows in our hands. The litany is familiar; social distance, mask and gloves. Now part of how care.
It does matter. Human lives matter. This virus is a stealthy murderer and "Something can be done about it." L. Ron Hubbard. www.volunteerministers.org
