You are cruising along the road. There are flashing lights behind you. Do you glance at your speedometer before slowing down and moving over, or do you simply slow down and get out of the way. The difference could be; if you are speeding, those lights could be after you! It does give you that intake of breath, that little rush, when you need to see just how much over the speed limit you are traveling. This is an infringement of law that many of us engage in, but are impatient if we are hemmed in by others who are obeying that law. Of course, we all know that WE do it safely.
Well, it does give us the opportunity to contribute monetarily to our local government, usually the state or county writes speeding tickets. While a city usually makes more money on expired parking meters. But it is very interesting to find how many of us think the "real" speed limit is ten miles faster than the posted signs.
