Shawnee Knight is the co-founder and co-president of Filling in the Blanks - a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to fighting child hunger. A community activist cum a passionate chef who has been classically trained at the French Culinary Institute, NYC, Shawnee Knight from New Canaan has a strong sense of social responsibility.

Filling in the Blanks is dedicated to fighting child hunger by providing the children in need with nutritious meals on the weekends. The organization offers a one of its kind lunch program that provides nutritious and affordable meals to children in local pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and camps. For just $5.25 a weekend, every child gets a bag of non-perishable, easy to prepare food items plus a fresh piece of seasonal fruit.

Shawnee is happily married to Douglas Knight – a travel agency owner in New Canaan.
