their business cards that would allow individual cards for each employee that could
be shipped to individual office locations. CD-adapco wanted Quick Response Codes
(QR codes) on the back of their cards to allow clients to scan the cards and have their
representative's contact information saved instantly to the customer's smart phone
address book.
A solution was found when CD-adapco contacted Color Card Administrator (CCA), a
business card design and printing firm headquartered in San Diego, CA. Utilizing an
advanced system for business card management, CCA created an automated business
card ordering page for CD-adapco allowing individual employees to log in and typeset
their own cards and generate proofs for approval. Each employee's contact information
is laid out in a uniform manner according to the design style chosen by CD-adapco, and
a custom QR code is generated for the back of the card.
Since the customized QR codes are vector graphics, they have high readability on
the finished card. Each card is printed with thick card stock on an offset press and
given a UV gloss coating to ensure it is protected and the QR code will remain clear for
scanning.
When scanned, these QR codes enable the phone to instantly save the employee's
name, title, cell phone, work phone, email and other information as a contact in the
phone's address book instantly. The automated process allowed CD-adapco to release
responsibility of their business card printing process to employees and through CCA,
are now able to ensure delivery of new business cards in one-two days to any of their
worldwide offices.
By switching to an automated online process that ensures consistent branding through
business card design, and allows individual employees to enter their own contact
information, CD-adapco is now able to reduce the overhead of managing business
cards from a single office as well as minimizing costly printing mistakes and saving time
by allowing employees to create and proof their own business cards .
CD-adapco now manages nine offices across the United States through CCA and
allows individual employees at each office to order cards with QR codes on the back
containing complete contact information.
