European Gynecology and Obstetrics Congress
Gynecology is a health specialty that deals with pregnancy and birth care for women, as well as study and therapeutics of women's reproductive systems diseases. It is also trained in other health factors for women, including menopause, hormone problems, contraception (battery) and infertility. Obstetrics as well as Gynecology are clinical specialities focused on the reproductive system from two different perspectives. Obstetrics highlight treatment for pregnant women, baby unborn, work, childbirth and subsequent birth. Gynecology works together on all other facets of the reproductive health of women from puberty to menopause.

Current research in Gynecology
The major issue that is faced by women during their gestational period is iron deficiency in pregnancy. Pregnant women are routinely tested for anaemia, as iron deficiency anaemia is common in pregnancy. Screening for iron deficiency in the absence of anaemia is more controversial. A new guideline from the United Kingdom reviews the scope of the problem and provides recommendations for testing and treatment. These include identifying non-anaemic women at high risk for iron deficiency and either beginning prophylactic iron therapy or checking iron parameters and targeting treatment to women with evidence of deficiency; in anaemic women, lowering the dose of oral iron if poorly tolerated and switching to intravenous iron if oral iron is ineffective or the anaemia is severe (especially later in the pregnancy); and continuing oral iron replacement for three months and at least six weeks postpartum.
